Frequently Asked Questions

What do we do if it rains?
We always recommend having a tent. It should be large enough to comfortably seat all of your guests. We also recommend a 20’x20’ tent over the dance floor, why take a chance. Our tents have removable sides so we can accommodate all types of weather.

Is there a place for the bride to dress before the wedding?
Yes, although our Farmhouse is not open to guests, we do recommend that the bride and her attendants relax in our second floor studio. It includes ample windows for watching guests as they arrive.

Are dogs allowed?
We realize it's a temptation for people to bring their pets to a Farm. A dozen dogs can quickly change both the atmosphere at a wedding, and the look of our many gardens. There are also many children at our weddings and they do have priority. We hope you understand, please leave your dogs at home.

Is there a place for children to nap?
If you feel this will be an issue for your guests, for a fee we can provide a small enclosed tent in a quiet area complete with travel cribs and a babysitter.

Are there local accommodations for our out-of-town relatives?
Our vacation rental Windbeam House makes a perfect guest house for the families of brides and grooms whose weddings we host at our farm. For information on additional lodging in Red Wing and the surrounding area, see Accommodations.

What are the bathroom accommodations? Is there running water?
Clean and comfortable satellite toilets are provided for each event, including one that is handicap accessible. A handwashing unit is provided as well with fresh water, hand soap and paper towels.

Do I need a licensed caterer, or can I bring my own food for the event?
Windbeam Farm does not offer catering, but we have a selection of licensed caterers to recommend. If our clients want to bring their own food, we are open to discussing the possibilities.
